Pneumatic Fluorine-Lined Discharge Valve | Reactor Bottom Discharge Valve – Product Manual
I. Product Overview
The pneumatic fluorine-lined discharge valve—also known as a reactor bottom fluorine-lined discharge valve—is a specialized anti-corrosive shut-off valve designed for the bottom outlets of reactors, mixing tanks, and storage tanks. The valve body utilizes a carbon steel or stainless steel base, with all wetted parts lined with fluoroplastics (PTFE, F46, or PFA). The medium contacts only the fluoroplastic layer, completely isolating it from the metal substrate, thereby enabling resistance to various strong acids, strong alkalis, solvents, and corrosive slurries.
The valve features a Y-type straight-through design with no dead zones and is equipped with a pneumatic actuator for automatic operation. It offers rapid opening and closing, clean discharge with no material residue, and effectively resolves common issues associated with traditional bottom valves, such as material accumulation, crystallization, corrosion, and leakage. It is widely used in applications involving bottom discharge, drainage, and venting for reactors in sectors such as fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, pickling, and desulfurization.
Applicable Temperature: -29°C to 250°C (PFA up to 250°C; PTFE/F46 suitable for -29°C to 200°C)
II. Lining Material Specifications

  1. PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)
Excellent corrosion resistance, non-stick properties, and self-lubrication; suitable for standard acids/alkalis and media prone to crystallization; temperature range: -29°C to 200°C.
  2. F46 (FEP – Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene)
High toughness, peel resistance, and negative pressure resistance; resistant to delamination and cracking; suitable for vacuum reactors and frequent cycling operations; temperature range: -29°C to 200°C.
  3. PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy)
A premium anti-corrosive material offering resistance to permeation, high temperatures, and aging, with no leaching; maximum temperature resistance of 250°C; suitable for high-temperature reactors, high-purity chemical applications, and processes involving severe corrosion. III. Structural Types (Dedicated for Reactor Bottoms)
This valve comes in two structural configurations—upward-opening and downward-opening—to suit various reactor operating conditions:
  4. Upward-opening discharge valve: The valve plug opens upwards, occupying no space inside the reactor and avoiding interference with the agitator; it is the preferred choice for stirred reactors, ensuring no material jamming or accumulation.
  5. Downward-opening discharge valve: The valve plug opens downwards, offering a larger flow bore and faster discharge speeds; it is suitable for applications involving high viscosity, high flow rates, and rapid slurry discharge.
    IV. Key Structural Features
  6. Full fluoroplastic lining (no dead zones/corrosion resistance): The valve body, disc, and flow passage are fully lined with fluoroplastic; the medium does not contact metal, completely eliminating corrosion-induced perforation, rusting, or leakage.
  7. Y-type straight-through flow passage: A streamlined, straight-through design with smooth inner walls prevents material adhesion and residue buildup, ensuring clean reactor discharge and preventing crystallization-induced blockages.
  8. Rapid pneumatic opening/closing: Equipped with a pneumatic actuator (and optional solenoid valves or limit switches) to enable automated remote discharge and emergency shut-off; suitable for explosion-proof workshop environments.
  9. Reliable sealing performance: Features a fluoroplastic conical soft seal that ensures a tight fit and zero leakage; suitable for both pressurized and vacuum applications.
  10. Crystallization and adhesion resistance: The non-stick fluoroplastic surface prevents material buildup, making it ideal for media prone to crystallization, high viscosity, or suspended particles.
  11. Safety and stability: Optional single-acting spring-return mechanism ensures automatic closure or opening upon air supply failure, meeting safety process requirements for chemical equipment. V. Technical Parameters

VI. Operating Conditions and Application Scenarios
    ✅ Applicable Conditions
  • Chemical & Fine Chemical Industries: Discharge and drainage of strong acid/alkali materials from reaction vessels, mixing tanks, and polymerization reactors
  • Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical & Dye Industries: Discharge of corrosive intermediates, liquid pharmaceuticals, and high-purity materials
  • Pickling, Electroplating & Chlor-alkali Processes: Fluid control at the bottom of vessels requiring high purity and resistance to severe corrosion
  • Vacuum/Negative Pressure Reactors & High-Temperature Reactors (PFA lining suitable for 250°C)
  • Discharge applications involving viscous materials, materials prone to crystallization or wall adhesion, and media containing fine particles
    ❌ Inapplicable Conditions
  • Media causing severe erosion due to large, hard particles or sharp grit/sand (risk of scratching the fluoroplastic lining)
  • Special media such as molten alkali metals or liquid fluorine
  • Conditions exceeding the material’s rated temperature or pressure limits
    VII. Standards
  • Design & Manufacturing: HG/T3704, GB/T12224
  • Connection Standards: HG20592, ASME • Customization: ASME B16.5 and non-standard reactor flanges available
  • Pressure testing: GB/T13927, API 598
  1. Explosion-proof configuration: Ex d IIC T6 rating available
    VIII. Installation and Usage Instructions
  2. The valve is designed for vertical installation at the reactor bottom; flange connections must be flat and aligned to avoid forcibly compressing the lining.
  3. Clear debris from the pipeline before initial use to prevent hard particles from scratching the fluoroplastic sealing surface.
  4. For high-temperature reactions, increase the temperature gradually to prevent lining delamination or blistering caused by sudden thermal shock.
  5. For negative pressure or vacuum reactors, F46/PFA linings are recommended due to their superior resistance to delamination.
  6. For materials prone to crystallization, operate and flush the valve regularly after use to prevent material from hardening and jamming the valve.
  7. Single-acting spring-return models allow for safe reset upon air supply failure, ensuring process safety for the reactor.
    IX. Product Advantages Summary
The pneumatic fluorine-lined reactor discharge valve is custom-engineered for bottom-discharge applications. It features a dead-zone-free, non-accumulating design with full corrosion resistance and a temperature range of -29°C to 250°C. Available in upward-opening and downward-opening configurations, it suits various stirred reactors. Pneumatic automatic operation ensures safety and efficiency, effectively resolving common issues such as corrosion-induced leakage, crystallization-related clogging, and incomplete discharge. It is the standard, specialized discharge valve for anti-corrosive chemical reactors.
